Help us to celebrate the Centenary of the founding of the Women’s Royal Naval Service, at RHS Chatsworth Flower Show 7-
This is an appeal to all former Wrens and women serving in today’s Royal Navy to craft a Wren bird or The Wren Rose – Rosa The Wren (‘Kormamtiza’) – that will be used to create a display at the Royal Horticultural Society’s brand new show launching in 2017 in the stunning grounds of Chatsworth House, Derbyshire. The Wren or Wren Rose should be a minimum size of 1” x 1” and a maximum size of 12” x 12”. It can be made out of any material but should be waterproof, as the installation will be outside for up to 6 days, and sturdy enough to be sent by post. We ask that you make your exhibit as colourful as possible to create real impact at the event. If willing we welcome you to make more than one craft contribution.
Please note that the exhibits used to create the final installation will be selected by the artist. There is no guarantee that the installation will include all submitted exhibits. Unfortunately, exhibits not selected for use cannot be returned to the contributor. At the end of the show, all exhibits will be put up for sale to members of the public, to raise funds for the WRNS Benevolent Trust.
Exhibits for the installation will need to be received no earlier than 6 April and by no later than 20 April 2017. Details on how and where to submit the exhibits will be announced by the RHS in February.
Any questions about this announcement should be emailed to WRNS100@rhs.org.uk.
